Amboseli N.P
Amboseli National Park, located in southern Kenya, is a premier wildlife destination with a rich history and stunning landscapes. Once part of Maasai tribal lands, it became a national park in 1974 to protect its unique ecosystem and wildlife. Nestled at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, the park offers breathtaking views and is famous for its large elephant herds and Super Tuskers. You will enjoy iconic sights of elephants against the backdrop of the snow-capped peak, making it a unique and memorable experience.
Lake Nakuru National Park is special for its unique soda lake, which attracts vast numbers of flamingos and other bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Its stunning landscapes, featuring the lake, grasslands, and rocky outcrops, offer exceptional photographic opportunities. Recognized as a Ramsar site in 1990 for its international wetland importance, and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, the park holds significant ecological and cultural value.

ITINERARY
Days 1 & 2

Your 2hrs journey commences in Sarara where your Helicopter pick you from Sarara Lodge at 7.15 carrying a picnic breakfast. Fly across to the southern side of the Mathews Mountains and then over the northen end of the Karisia hills cutting down into the Suguta Valley. From here you will slowly make your way up the Suguta stopping numerous times along the way to explore areas of interest such as the painted and hoodoe valleys, the fresh water pools, the sand dunes and Lake Logipe before cutting east towards Koros Camp. Arrive in time to settle in to the lodge, have lunch and some time to relax. 3hrs flying.
The afternoon will be spent driving to and exploring the Jade sea.
Lake Turkana, also known as "The Jade Sea" for its striking hues of blue and green, is the world's largest permanent desert and alkaline lake, stretching 290 km and fed by the Omo River from Ethiopia. It's also the fourth-largest salt lake globally by volume. Renowned as the "cradle of humankind" due to numerous hominid fossils, Lake Turkana is a must-see destination located about 50 km from the camp.
Day 2: Depart after breakfast flying across to the western side of the lake heading north. Stop at Lothagum, an ancient lake bed with fascinating fossils to be discovered. Cross back over at Fergusons Gulf, a turkana fishing village and overfly Central island, a UNESCO world heritage site and spectacular from the air. Continue on to Turkana Basin Institute where you will spend the morning exploring fossils alongside Louise Leakey or one of the senior researchers before heading out to one of the live digging sites. From here follow the eastern shoreline back to Koros Camp. 4.5 hours flying.
Days 3 & 4

Mpala Research Center
After breakfast, your private charter will pick you up and transfer you to Mpala Research Center in Laikipia. This is a 2hrs 15mins transfer. From here, it's a 20 minutes transfer to the Center.
You will be based here for the next one and half days.
Mpala Research Centre hosts the REDI-NET Silver Laboratory, dedicated to field surveillance and testing to better understand pathogens found in Kenya’s tropical grasslands. As a guest, you will have the opportunity to meet with the Silver Lab team and gain insight into their critical research.
Mpala’s One Health veterinary fellowship brings together local and international vets to exchange knowledge and participate in wildlife interventions. Current projects include collaring and a rhino reproductive hormone study at Ol Jogi Conservancy, aimed at supporting eastern black rhino conservation.
In addition, the Turkana Evolution Project, led by Dr. Julien Ayroles of Princeton University, studies how the Turkana people have adapted to extreme desert environments and how transitioning to urban settings impacts their genetic and physical traits. This research explores genetic variation, phenotypic traits, and the broader implications for understanding health and disease.
Days 4 & 5

in time to receive Doug & Pam at JKIA. Our customs assistance will help Doug & Pam through customs and bring them to you.
Your concierge will then tranfer you to The Norfolk Hotel, one of Nairobi's oldest and best-known hotels.
From the day it opened in 1904 it became a gathering place for new arrivals, business men and women and a start for safari expeditions. Since those early days the Norfolk has grown and expanded into a collection of half-timbered turrets, terraces, modern hotel wings and walks.
The whole hotel is loosely arranged around a central grassy courtyard where you will find a collection of old oxcarts and carriages.
Arriving at the Norfolk you will be met by a liveried doorman and ushered past the Lord Delamere Terrace Bar into the glittering reception area.
The Norfolk is well known for its excellent cuisine and many Nairobi residents come to enjoy food here. The Ibis Grill serves excellent à la carte meals whilst the Lord Delamere Restaurant serves good breakfasts, lunches and dinner.
Finally, there is a swimming pool and health centre, the highlight of which is probably the massages that can be arranged — perfect for recovering from a long-haul flight.
Days 6 & 7

The Cliff, L.Nakuru National .Park
Macharia will pick you up to transfer you to The Cliff lodge in Lake Nakuru N.P. This is a 3hrs road transfer with a quick stop at Mai Mahiu view point.
The viewpoint at Mai Mahiu, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley, with a stunning vista of the valley's expansive landscapes, dotted with volcanic formations and lush greenery.
Between Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru lies another of Kenya’s alkaline lakes, Lake Elmenteita. The area is an incredibly important feeding ground for both greater and lesser flamingos and a critical breeding site for great white pelicans.
You can stop off here on your way to Lake Nakuru National Park as it is on the way. Enjoy a leisurely wander along the shoreline and enjoy the sight of beautiful flamingos in their thousands and other animals such as zebras, gazelles, eland, and warthogs. Lunch can be booked at the beautiful Serena Elementaita hotel before proceeding to your hotel.
L.Nakuru is a Rift Valley soda lake and the centrepiece of L.Nakuru N.P. It became Kenya's first rhino sanctuary in 1984 and was designated a Ramsar site in 1990 for its ecological importance. Home to black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and over 450 bird species, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.
Your first evening will be spent at leisure, soaking in views of the Lake.
The next day will be spent exploring the Park in the early morning and a boat safari in the afternoon.
Days 8,9 & 10

Angama, Amboseli National Park
A leisurely breakfast and a 30 min transfer to the Naishi airstrip will get you there for your 10:00 am private flight to to Amboseli N.P, landing at 11:30 am.
Arriving at Kimana’s private airfield, your first glimpse of Angama Amboseli is the sweeping canvas fly sheets tucked into a verdant Fever Tree forest. After a welcome tour and settling into your Suite, enjoy a delicious lunch on the patio of the Guest Area, then get ready for your first bumble in the Sanctuary.
A stop for sundowners to toast the first day with Mount Kilimanjaro is necessary, followed by a lantern-lit dinner back at the Guest Area — and maybe a night cap under the stars around the Baraza.
Day 2:
Wake up to the sun illuminating Kili and after an early breakfast, depart for a full-day safari in Amboseli National Park. As you leave, visit the ‘pinch point’ — the smallest segment of a critical wildlife corridor. Spend the day exploring the Park’s famous marshlands and dry lake bed looking for Super Tuskers. After a picnic lunch at a private Angama site, return to the lodge in time for a visit to the Studios. Dinner is served on the private patio of your Guest Suite as the moon rises slowly over Kili.

Nairobi Half Day Excursion
Saying goodbye to Amboseli, you will make your way to the airstrip for your 08:10 am scheduled charter flight to Nairobi Wilson. This1 hr flight will have you in Nairobi in time for your 1:13 pm flight to Zanzibar.
With a few hours to spare; Below are a few excursions you could partake in:
National Museum of Kenya: Journey back in time at the National Museum of Kenya, where the story of the pre-historic man comes to life. Marvel at the exhibits featuring skulls and artefacts over 2 million years old, offering a profound understanding of human evolution and Kenya’s ancient history.
Visit famed ‘OUT OF AFRICA’ movie museum; The Karen Blixen Museum, is the former home of Out of Africa author Karen Blixen. You can explore the house, gardens, and artifacts, offering a glimpse into her life and Kenya's colonial past.
Meet the Rothschild giraffes:The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi offers you a chance to get up close with endangered Rothschild giraffes. Learn about giraffe conservation efforts, feed them by hand, and enjoy the nature trail through indigenous forest if time allows.
Days 11 & 12

Kilindi, Zanzibar
After the tiour,. your concierge will transfer you to Wilson /JKIA airport for your afternoon flight to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in before embarking on your late afternoon activity. Following a short 10-minute transfer arranged by the hotel, you will then take sail to begin what will be an undeniably memorable 2-3 hour journey along the coastline of north-west Zanzibar.
As part of this exotic and iconic experience, you will have the opportunity to snorkel in the warm and soothing ocean and admire the marine life that can be found along the Kendwa reef. Snacks and a selection be provided ahead of your return to Kilindi and your evening dinner.
Day 2:
Enjoy a comprehensive view and walk in Stone Town, and attain a deeper insight into the rich cultural heritage and history of the island of Zanzibar.
